IITs Reduced the Class 12th cut-off aggregate by 5%
Good news is always welcome and for great news, you don’t even need to ask to share it. Keeping in mind the former statement I hereby take the privilege of sharing the latest update or should I say “Great News” from most esteemed engineering institute of the nation- Indian Institute of Technology.
Getting admission in any IIT across the nation is a dream of many and even a small update from them has great impact as the audience they cater to is very large. And this update will give wings to dream of many more aspirants.
Talking about the update,
The IITs has decided to reduce the aggregate cut-off percentage for SC and ST students by 5%.
This will now bring down the cut-off to 65% as compared to 70% earlier. It is surely going to benefit the candidates aspiring to join IITs.
But as righty said “everything comes with a cost” and same is applicable in the case of this great news from IIT.
IIT has reduced cut-off percentage for the reserved category but also increased the application fees. The registration fees for IIT has been increased- for girls and reserved category it has been increased to Rs1200 from Rs1000, for other categories it has been increased to Rs2400 from Rs2000. Applicants from SARC countries will have to pay $135 and $270 for applicants from other countries. Apart from increased registration fees, the candidates applying late will now end up paying Rs500 as late fees change and foreign students needs to pay $80 as late fee charge.
Although the registration fees for reserved category candidates has increased but we still call it a great news because the benefits offered are way beyond the increased application fees. Comparing the benefits drawn from the latest updates against the increased application fees charged will be like comparing the size of an elephant against that of an ant.
Stay tuned for our next update.
