First ever career counselling centre by CBSE at Lakhimpur Kheri!
New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has launched its first ever Career Counselling and Guidance Centre in India at Lakhimpur Kheri, a part of Lucknow division in Uttar Pradesh. This centre will assist students in choosing the right career for themselves. It will especially target students from rural areas who do not have access to such facilities.
The centre will guide students of Class X and Class XII, which are usually considered the turning point of their academic choices which pave the way of their future careers. Right academic guidance at such strategic points is expected to help students not only in developing themselves but also in guiding them to contribute well in India’s growth and development.
The centre is not limited to CBSE students. It will help students from all Boards across the country for free. Only Rs 50 will be charged for the Student’s Global Aptitude Index (SGAI) test – the result of which will be made available to students within a day. The SGAI test will evaluate students on various parameters and help them choose appropriate subjects.
Helping students understand their knowledge level, skills, interests, goals and capability is expected to play a significant role in helping them access quality education with equity.
The CBSE is also planning to organise at least six camps in various UP districts between October to December sto spread awareness about the centre.
